The state of Louisiana has dropped its lawsuit against Common Core for the second time in 2016.
Former Governor Bobby Jindal filed a lawsuit against President Barack Obama in late 2015, “alleging that Obama manipulated policy waivers and billions of dollars in federal grant money to illegally pressure states to adopt the Common Core.” Gov. Jon Bel Edwards who was recently elected a month ago dropped the lawsuit late last week.
Citing the recent passage of the Every Student Succeeds Act, Edwards deemed the lawsuit “educationally and financially unnecessary.”
