The state of Louisiana’s ESSA plan has been approved by the United States Department of Education. Efforts by the state department to achieve approval has spanned for more than a year: “with educators, parents, advocates, and business and community leaders to create an improved education system that provides all students with equal access and opportunity to high-quality learning,” a press release from the Louisiana Department of Education stated.
