Earlier this month, the Louisiana Department of Education released this draft of modified standards, “aligned learning expectations for students with significant disabilities and English language learning needs.”

These are called “Louisiana Connectors.” More information from the website:
“Louisiana adopted the Louisiana Student Standards for mathematics and English language arts in the spring of 2016 and is proposing a set of aligned expectations to ensure the standards are accessible to students with significant cognitive disabilities and students with English language learning (ELL) needs. The Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) will consider this proposal this winter.
The Louisiana Connectors identify essential knowledge and skills that students with significant cognitive disabilities must master in order to be prepared for a successful life after high school. The Louisiana Connectors represent the most salient grade-level, core academic content in English and math found in the Louisiana Student Standards.”
