On September 1, Arkansas will be enacting new policy to require teacher education programs to hold candidates to a 2.7 GPA on admission. As a point of comparison, the new rules and regulations hold the state’s own nontraditional licensure program (APPEL) to a 2.25 GPA requirement if a candidate can document 15 years of experience in a field related to teaching or to their licensure area.
