According to a report found on WVEA’s website, on October 15, 2015 the West Virginia Board of Education agreed to drop the proposed policy that 15% of math and English teachers’ yearly evaluations would be based on the Smarter Balance test scores. Any references to the roster verification requirement for the test and evaluations have also been removed. “WVDE officials said: ‘Pending the federal ESEA reauthorization, WVDE postponed the use of standardized test scores as part of the fifteen (15) percent component for the 2015-2016 school year.’”
