On Tuesday, Gov. Daugaard vetoed the Transgender Bathroom bills that was passed by the SD house and senate. The bill would have made it so students would have to use the bathroom of their born gender, and not the gender with which they identify.
While the Governor has vetoed the bill, he has also stated that it is now up to school districts to make the ultimate decision. The bills sponsor,Rep. Fred Deutsch, is asking that lawmakers agree with the veto and focus on the good done in the legislature this session.
