“This Story Matters” is something we say a lot at NCTE because it is at the heart of all we do. Poetry is a fantastic way to reflect on this truth and to elevate your story, your students’ stories, and the stories of your community during National Poetry Month. We encourage NCTE members to print out this prompt and share it with students, use it to create your own poetry, or share it with your favorite poet.
