A series of follow-up conversations with NCTE Section leaders to "Stamped: A Conversation with Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi" about the implementation of antiracism practices across every grade level.
Stamped: The Meeting after the Meeting 2.0
The conversation that we had in late April with Jason Reynolds and Dr. Ibram X. Kendi was a powerful and thought-provoking reminder of how the topics of race, identity, and antiracist practices are necessary in our literacy classrooms. A few weeks later, we extended the opportunity for more in-depth conversation led by our Section leaders. Now, we look forward to having smaller facilitated group discussions with NCTE members aiming to explore these topics from different perspectives.
This discussion-based event will provide attendees with opportunities to participate in intimate conversations with their peers that extend and enrich themes we began to reflect on regarding Stamped. Tuesday’s gathering will be more of an onboarding session for educators who are new to conversations surrounding race and are seeking to increase their own knowledge about racism and antiracism. Wednesday’s session will be an opportunity to extend these conversations, and for educators experienced in these conversations to consider how to push their efforts further.
Registration is now closed.
We look forward to sharing more opportunities with you in the future!
