- Suggest an author, illustrator, or creator to be a guest speaker at an NCTE event reaching hundreds of classrooms each month in the 2026–2027 school year, by emailing or filling out the form linked in the QR code on this page.
- Nominate titles for NCTE’s Children’s Book and Poetry Awards: the Charlotte Huck Award® for Outstanding Fiction for Children, the Orbis Pictus Award® for Outstanding Nonfiction for Children, and the Notable Children’s Poetry Books and Verse Novels List.
- Nominate a print or non-print work for the NCTE George Orwell Award for Distinguished Contribution to Honesty and Clarity in Public Language.
- Participate in the National African American Read-In (AARI). Established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of NCTE, AARI encourages communities to read together, centering African American books and authors, during Black History Month. This initiative has reached more than six million participants worldwide. We welcome your:
- Suggestions for authors, illustrators, or creators to speak at AARI events
- Donations of books featuring African American authors or illustrators
- New ideas for championing African American literature
- AARI-themed newsletters or books
- Promote the 28th annual National Day on Writing® in your newsletters and social media channels. NCTE established October 20 as the National Day on Writing to recognize and encourage the remarkable variety of writing that Americans engage in.
- Contribute books for NCTE giveaways supporting elementary, middle, secondary, and college classrooms. Classroom sets or individual copies are appreciated.
- Partner with long-term initiatives supporting reading.
