Fifteen-year-old Janie Johnson, over lunch with her friends at school one day, notices a “missing” ad on the back of a milk carton. The picture of the girl who is missing is three years old, wearing a polka-dotted dress, and named Jennie Spring. Janie immediately recognizes herself and slowly begins to unravel the mystery. Who kidnapped her? Were her own loving parents involved?
