4th Annual SU African American Poetry Read-In - National Council of Teachers of English

Welcome to the NCTE event calendar! Here, you can find a list of events, including webinars, workshops, and in-person conferences. These events provide opportunities for English language arts teachers to learn new strategies and techniques, network with colleagues, and stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in the field.

If you have an event that you would like to submit to be included on the NCTE event calendar, please fill out the event submission form. To be considered, events must align with the mission of NCTE and be of professional interest to English language arts teachers. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!

If you’re hosting an event you’d like to share, submit your event here.

4th Annual SU African American Poetry Read-In

February 22, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

February ushers in Black History Month (BHM); like the previous years, we are hosting an African American Poetry Read-In on Wednesday, February 22, 6-7:30 p.m. This year it will be both in-person in the Dr. Ernie Bond Curriculum Resource Center (CRC) as well as on Zoom. Please see the attachment for registration information.

We are excited to add a new component this year. Please send me your favorite poem by either an African American poet or something related to Black History. We will add it to the BHM LibGuide under Campus Favorites https://libraryguides.salisbury.edu/aapoetryreadin.
