African American Read-In Day!

February 12, 2025

A selection of books/anthologies/poetry/etc. by African American authors were pulled from the classroom library shelves and we dedicated a day to exploring them! Core classes (English I, II, III, IV) made a book selection, grabbed a snack, and spent their class period reading a new book. Creative Writing did an interactive response with Gwendolyn Brooks’ poem “We Real Cool” that got them talking, writing, and thinking critically.
