Welcome to the NCTE event calendar! Here, you can find a list of events, including webinars, workshops, and in-person conferences. These events provide opportunities for English language arts teachers to learn new strategies and techniques, network with colleagues, and stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in the field.

If you have an event that you would like to submit to be included on the NCTE event calendar, please fill out the event submission form. To be considered, events must align with the mission of NCTE and be of professional interest to English language arts teachers. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!

Arlington Career Center’s African American Read-In

February 21, 2024 @ 1:40 pm - 3:00 pm

Arlington Career Center will host its first African American Read-In on Wednesday, February 21st at 2:00 pm. The African American Read-In was founded in 1990 by the Black Caucus of National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) to encourage community-wide reading and to promote literacy by showcasing books by Black authors. During the event, attendees will hear from students and staff as they read excerpts from notable works of fiction by Black authors and share their personal stories on topics such as identity, genre, and representation in literature. Please contact Dr. Deborah Sanchez for more information:
