Welcome to the NCTE event calendar! Here, you can find a list of events, including webinars, workshops, and in-person conferences. These events provide opportunities for English language arts teachers to learn new strategies and techniques, network with colleagues, and stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in the field.
If you have an event that you would like to submit to be included on the NCTE event calendar, please fill out the event submission form. To be considered, events must align with the mission of NCTE and be of professional interest to English language arts teachers. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!
If you’re hosting an event you’d like to share, submit your event here.

CFBISD African American Read In (AARI)
February 25, 2025 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Free
Students, parents, and staff are invited to read or recite a favorite poem, picture book, or excerpt from an African American author or poet. Readings should be 2 minutes or less. All ages are invited to participate!
Since this event has passed, I would like to add that our youngest participant was Pre-K who recited the last line from Gorman’s “This Hill We Climb” – “for there is always light if only we’re brave enough to see it, if only we’re brave enough to be it.” Our readers included students from multiple elementary schools, two of our middle schools, and three of our high schools. We had several adult readers that included teachers and parents. We also warmly welcomed a family from another district who attended – and the student read – because they were not having an AARI event in their district.
