Port Huron Schools Hosts National African American Read-In 2026
The National African American Read-In (AARI), established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English, encourages communities to come together and celebrate literacy by reading works by African American authors. This year, Port Huron Schools will host an AARI event as a part of Black History Month celebrations. Participating students will read a book aloud, highlighting the importance of African American voices in literature and making reading a central part of the celebration.
