NCTE’s research programs and projects support, publish, and share current scholarship that aims to improve the quality of English language arts instruction at all educational levels.
Concerned in particular about the misconceptions regarding literacy teacher preparation and recognizing the importance of educating teachers entering the profession, the International Literacy Association (ILA) and NCTE brought together a task force charged to review and analyze the research on teacher preparation for literacy instruction.
