TSU Black Arts and Literature Faculty’s 35th Annual African-American Read-In

February 16, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Free

Tennessee State University’s Black Arts and Literature Faculty of the Languages, Literature, and Philosophy Department will host the 35th Annual African-American Read-In, with this event returning to its in-person format. This year, we are paying homage to African-American literary and artistic works that emphasize our theme of “Democracy” in honor of Black History Month. For an hour and a half, enjoy hearing a diverse catalog of literary writers, cultural critics, and creative works that celebrate African-American literature, history, and culture. TSU faculty, staff, and students are invited and encouraged to come read, listen, or recite examples of African-American literature of all genres. You may also present your own creative work during the event, if desired.
