The Conference on English Leadership (CEL) invites CEL members to join a virtual Social Hour kicking off the 2026–2027 school year. This session will provide a space to connect, network, and share the challenges and opportunities of literacy leadership in individual contexts.

These gatherings can be casual and relational while addressing the detailed work of supervision, curriculum, instruction, advocacy, assessment, and collaboration. CEL serves the important role of providing community and support for literacy leaders who may be the only English language arts department chair, supervisor, or coordinator in their locale.

 

At this event, literacy leaders will:

  • Network and join a community of lifelong literacy leaders.
  • Share and troubleshoot leadership and team goals for the school year.
  • Discuss pressing and persistent topics in our field.
