Literacies and Languages for All (LLA) Awards
LLA awards honor members who view whole language as a dynamic philosophy of education.
All awards are given at the discretion of the LLA Executive Board from nominations submitted to the LLA Awards Committee.
The awards are presented at the Opening Session during the LLA Literacies for All Summer Institute. A brief review of the recipient’s contribution is given followed by the presentation of a plaque or certificate.
The LLA Awards program is on hold for 2024. Please check back in early 2025 for an update on submitting nominations.
Lifetime Membership Award
The Lifetime Membership Award is presented to a member who has, throughout his/her career, made an outstanding contribution to whole language in general and/or the Literacies and Languages for All in particular.
Service Award
The Service Award is presented to a member who has made a particular contribution to the Literacies and Languages for All in terms of the work they have done for the organization.
Reclaiming the Joy of Teaching Award
The Reclaiming the Joy of Teaching Award honors a preK-12 teacher that inspires authentic progressive literacy learning.
