Get Involved with English Leadership Quarterly
English Leadership Quarterly (ELQ) thrives because of the contributions and engagement of educators like you. Whether you have expertise to share, have ideas for future content, or want to support the work of fellow educators, there are multiple ways to get involved with ELQ and the Conference on English Leadership community.
Join Our Community of Reviewers
The ELQ editorial team extends heartfelt thanks to our reviewers, whose thoughtful feedback and dedication ensure that high-quality, practical content reaches educators and leaders. Your volunteer service strengthens every issue we publish.
- We’re looking for reviewers at all stages of their careers, including teacher leaders, literacy coaches, department chairs, curriculum leaders, administrators, and higher education faculty.
- You don’t need advanced degrees or publications to review.
- What matters is your commitment to English and literacy education and your willingness to provide constructive feedback to fellow educators.
- Reviewers typically evaluate approximately three manuscripts per year based on their interests and/or expertise.
- If you are interested, please email the editor at elq@ncte.org. Your voice shapes literacy leadership.
Propose a Special Theme Issue
Do you have an idea for a timely or important theme that would resonate with literacy leaders? ELQ welcomes proposals for special themed issues that address emerging challenges, innovative practices, or critical conversations in the field.
Theme proposals should include:
- The proposed theme and its significance to literacy leadership
- Potential subtopics or questions the issue might address
- Rationale for why this theme matters now
- Your background and interest in guest editing
Submit theme proposals to the editor at elq@ncte.org.
