2024 Affiliate Leadership Meeting
During the 2024 NCTE Affiliate Leadership Meeting (ALM), July 12–14, in Washington, DC, leaders of NCTE’s state and regional affiliates will have access to specialized content to help you imagine future possibilities and strengthen your organization for years ahead. With the chair of the Standing Committee on Affiliates, we are talking in thematic tones of “Reimagine and Restore.”
There will be a strong focus on updated governance practices and new policies. NCTE wants to do all we can to help affiliates avoid costly circumstances that take a deep toll on both the leaders and the affiliate. Attendees will also think with NCTE and the Standing Committee on Affiliates (SCOA) on ideas to reimagine what our network does and might offer in the future. We anticipate this will be a generative meeting!
We encourage affiliates to send as many leaders to this biennial meeting as is possible. Attendance at this meeting is an investment in your affiliate’s future as well as in your individual growth and leadership. The work we’ll do in Washington, DC, will set the stage for your leaders’ and your affiliate’s continued growth and vitality. See below for registration and meeting details. Special Event: Folger Shakespeare Library Tour
The Folger Shakespeare Library, located on Capitol Hill, just completed an $80M renovation that dramatically updates the overall experience and opportunities to serve educators. Attendees registered for the Affiliate Leadership Meeting are invited to enjoy a personalized, special tour and exhibition experience—a real sneak peek—just for NCTE affiliates Friday, July 12, at 3:00 p.m. ET in advance of the meeting’s kickoff dinner. The curated experience will be followed by refreshments and conversation.
Any attendee wishing to join us for this experience must sign up in advance for the tour by June 21, 2024.

Registration and Housing
Registration Deadline: June 21, 2024
NCTE will partially cover the cost of two representatives from each affiliate to attend per the ALM reimbursement policy. If an affiliate wants to send more than two representatives, there will be a registration fee—see below. Note that all Affiliate Leadership Meeting attendees must be current NCTE members.
If you are the third or more representative of an affiliate, we welcome you to attend. You (or your affiliate) will need to complete the 2024 ALM registration form as well as contact affsec@ncte.org to make arrangements to pay the $350 registration fee.

Housing
The 2024 ALM will be held at the Grand Hyatt Washington. Reservations are accepted through June 21, 2024, using special rate code G-NCTE. Single and double hotel rooms are $185 per night plus tax.
