2022 Affiliate Leadership Meeting

During the 2022 NCTE Affiliate Leadership Meeting (ALM), July 29–31, in Louisville, KY, leaders of NCTE state and regional affiliates will have access to the specialized content while also having the benefit of networking opportunities with NCTE members active in other parts of the organization. Specific opportunities will include conversations with other humanities-based organizations; collaboration among affiliates, NCTE, and NCTE partners in the fight against censorship; and focused topics such as critical media literacy, building membership, and more.

The 2022 ALM will be held in conjunction with the NCTE Homecoming. The Homecoming is consolidating several different traditional stand-alone events into one, including the biennial Affiliate Leadership Meeting, the English Language Arts Teacher Educators (ELATE) Summer Conference, and the Literacies and Languages for All Summer Institute. We encourage affiliates to send as many leaders to this biennial meeting as is possible. This meeting is so important to grow the affiliate community of educators, leaders, and learners! See below for details and registration information. Please email affsec@ncte.org with questions.

Registration

Registration Deadline: June 30, 2022

NCTE will partially cover the cost of two representatives from each affiliate to attend per the meeting-attendee policy. If an affiliate wants to send more than two representatives, there will be a registration fee. It’s time to begin thinking about who from your affiliate should attend! NCTE and the participating affiliates share the cost of the meeting as outlined in the Affiliate Leadership Meeting Reimbursement Policy. Note that all Affiliate Leadership Meeting attendees must be current NCTE members. Other special guests include invited speakers, NCTE elected leaders, and NCTE staff.

If you are one of the following, you’ll also need to pay a $235 registration fee to attend in addition to completing the form above:

  • Third, fourth, fifth, or sixth representatives from an affiliate
  • NCTE members with other roles in the Council
  • Any NCTE member who would like to attend

Registration for the NCTE Homecoming includes access to three days of programming and celebration July 29-31 in Louisville, Kentucky. During registration, you will be asked to select the track that you are interested in attending, in this case, the Affiliate Leadership Meeting; however, the programming content and experiences will be available to all attendees. Due to on-site preparations, cancellations cannot be accepted after June 30, 2022.
