Whole Language Beliefs
Whole Language is a set of principles and teaching practices that draws upon scientifically based research from many areas including: first and second language development, early literacy, the relationship between language and culture, children’s and adolescent literature, digital literacy, and on-going classroom research.
LLA Scholarship Fund
LLA Scholarships assist teachers who embrace whole language practices in their classrooms. Scholarships are available each year for teachers to attend the Literacies for All Summer Institute. The scholarship supports registration costs and one year of LLA/NCTE membership. Each award is valued to be no more than $300.

In Memory of Ken Goodman, Donate
Ken Goodman, Professor Emeritus at the University of Arizona, reading researcher, and the founding father of Whole Language, died peacefully in his sleep on March 12, 2020.
